ERICA EDGERSON
CO-OWNER/DIRECTOR
Ms. Erica began baton twirling at the age of five and dancing at the age of six at the Dance Academy – Griffin, GA for 11 years. She continued her dance and performance training at the University of Georgia (UGA) where she was a Georgette with the UGA Redcoat Band for 4 years. She was also an instructor for high school majorette, flag and dance lines. Ms. Erica received instruction in dance at UGA and was one of the founding members of a university dance company called Pamoja, which is currently still in existence on campus since 1987. Ms. Erica received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia and a Juris Doctorate degree from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. Ms. Erica is married to Ron Edgerson and has a eighteen year old son, Nicolas, who is one of our after-school hip-hop teachers. Her areas of instruction include ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, liturgical, musical theater, baton twirling, dance and drill, and Competition coaching (dance and pageant).
JANAI JESTER
CO-OWNER/DIRECTOR
Ms. Janai began dancing at the age of three at Studio D in Griffin, GA. At the age of six she began training at the Spelman Children’s Dance Theater at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA with classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and West African dance. Ms. Janai joined Dance Vision Performance Academy (DVPA) in high school taking classes in ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. She was one of the first seniors to graduate from DVPA before leaving for college at New York University. While attending NYU, Ms. Janai expanded her dance experience as a member of the college’s hip hop team “Hipnotic” and “One Step Ahead” step team. She also attended dance and technique classes at NYU, Broadway Dance Center, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center & School. Ms. Janai’s later transferred to Georgia State University where her academic major was History with a minor in African-American Studies. She returned to DVPA to teach under Ms. Erica and also taught at the Dance Academy- McDonough & Stockbridge, Ga as well as Jackson Elementary School- Morrow, GA. Her areas of dance instruction include ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, Competition coaching, and she is a certified Zumba & Zumba Gold instructor.
JAMYA GETER
INSTRUCTOR
Jamya was born and raised in Griffin, GA. In 2021, she received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the Illustrious Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. Ms. Jamya trained in ballet, tap, jazz & hip-hop with Powerhouse Talent, formerly known as Dance Vision Performance Academy, for six years. She also danced for the Griffin High School “10k Dancing Divaz” and the Diva Dance Workshop for 3 years. During her collegiate years, she was an Alabama A&M Dancin' Diva in the Marching Maroon and White Band for 3 years. Ms. Jamya is currently in her second season as a professional WNBA
Dancer for the Atlanta Dream. Ms. Jamya is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and Delta Phi Delta Dance Fraternity, Incorporated.
GRACE FARROW
INSTRUCTOR
Grace began dancing at the age of two at Studio D in Griffin, GA. During her twelve years
of attendance there, she was Clara in the Nutcracker and danced with the Griffin Ballet
Theatre company. Grace began attending Powerhouse Talent at age fourteen. She has
been trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, and Hip-Hop. Grace competed in the 2019
competition season as a pointe soloist. After high school, she attended Louisiana State
University for three years and was a part of the dance ambassadors' program. Grace will be
attending Middle Georgia State University in the Fall of 2024 to pursue a degree in Nursing.
